
Corrective maintenance
Corrective maintenance refers to the repair of a breakdown or malfunction of equipment.
Depending on the client’s needs, the corrective maintenance contract may specify two types of maintenance:
- If maintenance is performed after a breakdown, it is called immediate corrective maintenance.
- If maintenance is carried out according to maintenance rules previously agreed upon with the client, it is referred to as deferred corrective maintenance.

Preventive maintenance
Preventive maintenance is carried out regularly, according to predefined criteria. The objective is clear: to reduce breakdowns and extend the lifespan of materials or equipment.
This is essential maintenance: it ensures the continuation of operations by minimizing the risk of hardware failure.
His role:
- Increase the lifespan of equipment and materials
- Minimize the risk of breakdowns during business hours
- Reduce technical delays in case of overhaul or breakdown
- Preventing and also anticipating costly corrective maintenance interventions
- Controlling energy consumption by maintaining the facilities in good working order
Depending on the client’s needs, the preventive maintenance contract may include 2 types of maintenance:
- Systematic preventive maintenance is carried out according to a schedule established over time.
- Condition-based preventive maintenance is performed based on continuous monitoring of an event or a counter (number of cycles).
